Do We Live In A Hologram?

Elon Musk And Other Scientists Think So.

What Is A Hologram?

A hologram is a light pattern in which every part of the system is an image of the entire system, just like fractals: a romanesco broccoli and a hologram have in common the repetition of the same pattern again and again, the one that represents the design of the whole system. Some scientists, like Leonard Susskind, the Stanford physicist who first formally defined the idea decades ago and Elon Musk think that the whole universe lies on the same principle.

Do We Live In The Matrix?

As we’re approaching the release of Matrix 4, the question remains the same: do we live in the Matrix? Some physicists actually believe that’s the case; even though we appear to live in a three-dimensional universe, it might only have two dimensions. It’s called the holographic principle. Some distant two-dimensional surface contains all the data needed to fully describe our world — and much like in a hologram, this data is projected to appear in three dimensions. Like the characters on a TV screen, we live on a flat surface that happens to look like it has depth. Elon Musk’s take instead is one of a simulation: ”If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will be indistinguishable from reality, or civilization will end. One of those two things will occur,” Musk said. “Therefore, we are most likely in a simulation, because we exist.” and he follows: “I think most likely — this is just about probability — there are many, many simulations, you might as well call them reality, or you could call them multiverse.”. So the answer seems to be: “Yes, we live in the Matrix”.

What Does That Implie?

Living in a projection seems to pose another question: “Who’s the projector?”; this is a very profound question and I think that the best answer to it is consciousness. From a scientific point of view it’s litterally true that our consciuosness creates the world which we percieve true our senses: and of what else can we speak of if not of the universe percieved by us? Thinking that we live in a simulation gives life a sense of playfulness and non-seriousness which can make our living in the world much more easy and effortless. So, considering all these observations, what do you wanna take, the red pill or the blue one?.
