Netflix Is Life Pornography
We live our boring lives through series and movies.

We need vehicles through which we can live our life more fully: like pornography is simulated sex so Netflix is simulated life. We are too idle and scared to live life to our fullest potential so we settle for binge watching a series for days instead of living in reality. We are consumers, that’s obvious, but the less obvious aspect of it is that we’re consuming our own life, that’s the worst part of this society. We live through stories that are not our own, characters created by someone else ready to be eaten voraciously and than thrown away. We are shadows in our own lives, only the actors are the real protagonists, we feel through them, think and live according to the script written by others. We are not the screenwriters of our existence, we are spectators to our life adventure, more interested in other people lives, false lives created only to entartain you. Society loves it, there’s no doubt about that: a sedated person can be easily manipulated, no dangerous initiative can come out of a human being like that. We are entranced by the drama and we don’t want to come out of it. There’s a phrase in Oscar Wilde’s writings that says: ”Life is inspired by art as much as art is inspired by life”. I think this equation is greatly unbalanced towards the first part. We need to reclaim our life, the beauty, the mystery of it, we need to be the heroes of our own show, only than we’ll shine like real stars.
