This Is Why I Hate Modernism
The modern relativistic time of “everything is possible” and the lack of values.
I hate modern times, this is the main argument of this article: but why? The main motive is the lack of values and certainty. After the 20th century, the two world wars and Nietzsche, the modern civilisation has lost the right direction, it is astray in the field of “everything is possible”, not knowing where it’s going, how or why. No moral or ethical value is relevant anymore, the nihilist society in which we live in is hideous, ruthless and ignorant. The only real value, followed as if it was a true religion, is money. This is what people believe in today, not God, not Goodness, Beauty or Justice, the Platonic values, but money, the quote on the dollar should be “In Bucks We Trust”, it would be more appropriate and real. Another pillar of today’s believe and praise is science, it seems that it has saved us from everything, and will makes us immortal and perfectly healty in the near future: science is not the savior, and never will be. On the contrary, it is responsible for the state of misbelief, materialism and spiritual aridity in which most of the people live nowdays. Science and money are the two gods that we venerate, and the funny thing is that they’re entangled, one can’t live without the other. Without money no scientific research is possible, that’s why science has always an agenda; without science no big investments and money return can happen, technology has been the most profitable sector since the industrial revolution. This is why they have the world in their hands, because people revere them, that’s why. Values have been substituted by prices, and Truth by the accordance of a small group of “experts” that change theories every six months. Where are we going? Does this life has an heart? Or we will replace it also with silicon and circuits?
